Description

Expert working group commissioned by the Digital Health and Care Institute to examine options for contact tracing and participatory disease surveillance apps in Covid-19. Four senior academics from Scottish universities examined what might be considered the optimum or desirable features of such apps - from the perspectives of public health practice and research, software privacy architectures, device and communications security and digital ethics.
The working group produced a report that was circulated to key divisional leads in Scottish Government in late May. Initially produced as a closed document, the report has since been published by the Digital Health Institute as an Open Access paper, titled "Use of Participatory Apps in Contact Tracing: Options and Implications for Public Health, Privacy and Trust" (see links).
