Along with one of my PhD students, Tom Day, I have co-organised a panel for this conference, 'Towards a Pop Cinema'. The panel attempts to think through the relationships between Pop Art and the moving image. My own talk, 'Always Crashing in the Same Car', examines the film output of the artist Eduardo Paolozzi, situating it in relation to the rest of his work - and concentrating in particular on his recurrent use of the motif of the automobile accident.
