'Mapping honey bee health and genetic diversity in the UK', a one hour lecture given as part of a two day meeting entitled "Sustainable Beekeeping: a future without imports". The meeting was organized by the Bee Improvement and Bee Breeders Association (BIBBA) in association with the B4 project. The event was attended by 200 people. I spoke about my involvement with a citizen science project, the use of whole genome sequencing to analyze the genetic diversity of the UK honey bee population, about the development of methods to use whole genome sequencing data to analyze all of the organisms living within honey bees and about a new low cost genotyping platform to identify native honey bees.
