Description

The remit of the Tax Consultation Forum was to provide strategic advice to Scottish Ministers on issues of tax policy and administration, including points of principle to inform tax consultations and legislation. The meetings were chaired by Mr Swinney, the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth. Representatives of the following organisations attended the meetings: Action of Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS), Age Scotland, the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Improvement Service (on behalf of COSLA), the Poverty Alliance, the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, the STUC and Young Scot. Tax academic Sandra Eden, of Edinburgh University, attended in a personal capacity.
