tdlab Brown Bag seminar on the SHAPE-ID Toolkit

Activity: Academic talk or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

For the past two and a half years, the Horizon 2020 funded SHAPE-ID project (Shaping Interdisciplinary Research in Europe) has been addressing the challenge of how to strengthen the integration of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in inter- and transdisciplinary research. In June 2021, the project’s final toolkit was launched. This web-based toolkit is available at www.shapeidtoolkit.eu and has been designed to provide guidance for those engaged in or supporting inter- and transdisciplinary research: researchers, research performing organisations, research policymakers and funders, and societal partners.
This brown bag session will briefly introduce participants to the toolkit including its curated resources organised according to a wide range of research goals and its bespoke guides, tips and tools for different groups of users. It will then focus on resources that we think are particularly useful for individual researchers, beginning with our section on Developing a Career in Inter- and Transdisciplinary research which contains resources to help researchers acquire particular skills to bridge disciplinary differences, write inter- and transdisciplinary funding proposals, and develop their research networks. If there is time and interest, we can also touch on other sections of the toolkit, perhaps including those on Developing Collaborative Conditions, Co-creating a Research Project (with partners such as artists and other creative practitioners), or Supporting Collaborative Researchers.
