TENET Traveller Education Network training day

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesProfessional Development and Training

Description

TENET - The Traveller Education Network – this is an active professional network coordinated by STEP for all involved in the delivery of education for traditionally nomadic communities such as Scottish Gypsy/Travellers, European Roma and Scottish Showpeople. Members collaborate to produce resources, share practice, and support and inspire each other. There are three dedicated network meetings each year as well as a range of CPD opportunities.

The focus of the meeting will be the implementation of the forthcoming national guidance and how we can work together to improve outcomes. We expect to be joined for a short while in the morning by Christina McKelvie, the new MSP with responsibility for Equalities, who will be keen to hear of your experiences in the work that you do. The plan for the afternoon session will be to look at the roles of TENET members and what support you will need from within or out with your authority. As a national network we are also keen to find out what support you can provide for others in delivering on the guidance.
