The borders of sanity

This is a four episode series in BBC Radio 4 in which Chris Harding explores the medicalisation of mental illness. The programs focus on depression in Japan, adolescent mental health in Sweden, voice-hearing in the UK, and healing in Ghana. It is rooted in Chris Harding's research on culture and mental health/illness, and he scripts and presents the episodes. A fifth episode has been commissioned by the World Service as a roundtable discussion based on the issues raised in the series.
