Description
A talk giving an overview of the Carmichael Watson Project for archives professionals attending the Archives and Records Association meeting at Perth and Kinross Archives, AK Bell Library, Perth. The content of the paper focussed on how the project has broken new ground archivally, in its approach to indexing, including the use of geo-referencing place-names; the use of Encoded Archival Description (EAD); Encoded Archival Context (EAC); and cataloguing bi-lingual archives. The involvement of researchers in archival cataloguing and the use of developers at EDINA, the national data centre, was also discussed.Period | 6 May 2011 |
