Description
The Other Travel Agency – Inner Journey artworks became part of the larger touring show The Other Travel Agency, which brought together the Nordic Outsider Art Network artwork contributions from the four Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland). The Other Travel Agency was launched at the European Union parliament gallery, EXPO Exhibition space, in the József Antall building, Brussels Tuesday 24th of September 2019. The opening was followed by a panel discussion around Cultural Rights & Potentials, visibility in the arts for disabled artists, where Inglis presented The Other Travel Agency – Inner Journey to an audience of European Union MEPS and officials. The panel was led by Päivi Lilja, Executive Director of Kettuki Association and included speakers MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen, Kati Laakso, Director of Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, curator Jaakko Blomberg and artist Anders Wettler. Kettuki is Finland’s nationwide studio network for artists from outside the mainstream art world. Kettuki association was founded in 2002. The association consist of artists, art experts, professionals and 22 organizations in the field of art, culture and social services. Kettuki is the founder and coordinator of NOA Nordic Outsider Art network. Kettuki’s main goal is equality in art. Kettuki network aims to improve opportunities for people with intellectual and learning disabilities to study and practice art in both professional and recreational contexts.Period | 24 Sept 2019 |
