The Royal Society of Edinburgh @ Scottish Borders programme Launch and Public Talk: What Made the Borders?

The RSE @ Scottish Borders programme is a year long programme of activities for school children and the public taking place throughout the Scottish Borders. The launch event and public talk included the following: 1) An afternoon presentation to school pupils: ‘What Made the Borders’ – Prof. Richard Oram, Prof. Michael Brown and Dr Steve Boardman 2) An evening public talk: 'What Made the Borders' – Prof. Richard Oram, Prof. Michael Brown and Dr Steve Boardman. 20 minute presentations by each speaker followed by panel discussion / questions from the audience. Steve Boardman's presentation was entitled 'The Borders in the fourteenth century. Border war and the rise of the Douglases'. School talk: a school audience of S3 pupils Public talk: an estimated audience of 120 people
