Description
Scholars have long examined treasuries, particularly the well-known examples at Olympia and Delphi. The scholarly focus has been on architecture and sculpture when it exists. Although we know from ancient authors, such as Pausanias, that treasuries housed objects, specifically gifts to the god, less attention has been given to their administration, placement, accessibility, and other functions. This paper addresses these questions.
