Description
This talk will examine several of the key issues being litigated in the US v Khalid Shaikh Mohammad et al. military commission proceedings taking place on Naval Station Guantánamo. The five defendants in the case are being prosecuted for various war crimes and terrorism in relation to the 11 September 2001 attacks on the United States. In particular, the tension between the alleged crimes of the defendants and the US government's role in torturing them for 3-4 years on CIA blacksites will be discussed in the context of delays to the commission proceedings.Period | 5 Dec 2018 |
