Translation! Festival at Exeter

Description

The performance and following open conversation will be video-recorded and the documentation will be shared on the CTLA project website, Exeter University’s Festival page and, the Live Art platform performingborders.live (6,200 visits since January 2019) in order to create a legacy of this interdisciplinary event and share it with national and international audiences interested in translation studies, religion, identity and Live Art. The aims of the activities of this impact project are:

1.to participate in the British Academy funded Translation Festival and bring to the public issues relating to religious identity and conversion;
2.To create a platform where members of the general public can explore the themes of the research project in a creative context: writing and performing religious conversion, changing relations between individuals and communities, and interpretations of Christianity from the global south.
3.to collaborate with Alessandra Cianetti on a small event with a view to develop collaborative working relationship to apply for an AHRC follow-on impact fund;
4.to influence the Live Art sector in platforming urgent discussions around religion and identity in collaboration with the academia in order to create new original interdisciplinary works and engage art professionals, academic researchers, students, and the general public in a common multidisciplinary discussion.
