Usher Institute Career Development Roundtables: Fellowships & Funding

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesProfessional Development and Training

Description

I have been a member of the Usher Institute Research Committee, Edinburgh University Medical School, representing Early Career Researchers (ECRs) since 2020. In this role, in 2022 I organised three career development roundtables to help ECRs manage better their work-life balance, make sense of the different career paths available to them, and guide them to apply for fellowships and funding schemes. These events were held online on Zoom. For the session on fellowship & funding, the invited speakers were: Dr Helen Stagg; Dr Chris Weir; Dr Giulia De Togni; Professor Martyn Pickersgill (also chairing). I invited the speakers, hosted the events, helped facilitate the discussion, and acted as a panelist for this session.
