Description

Wuhan Exchange: Was a project designed by Lindy Richardson /Robert Gillan. My input was to research Ayrshire Embroidery and respond to my research visually. This research was then literally sent to Wuhan University-China . Students from this university were encouraged to respond to this . The purpose of this project was to exchange techniques/break down preconceived ideas of what textiles is. This project was important for many reasons- It allowed me to research my Local Ayrshire embroidery It allowed me to be part of a group project. I made valuable connections with Dean Castle - restoration particularly. I was introduced to design questions that would not have been raised had it not been for this project.
