30×30: A Blueprint For Ocean Protection

Description

We developed a scientific basis for the design of a marine protected area (MPA) network for the high seas (areas beyond national jurisdiction, which span 61% of the area of the oceans).  The approach maximises the effectiveness of the MPA networks in protecting and providing resilience to critical marine species, ecosystems and functions, whilst minimising socio-economic costs.
