Sugar and Songs: A Musical Journey from the Caribbean to Scotland - In this session we explore the power of food and music to bring people together in the face of injustice. We begin by celebrating the creativity and resilience of African Caribbean peoples through their food and music, and then move on to well-known songs and foods in Scotland. The session will reveal how foods such as sugar connect us to difficult histories of slavery but also ways we can broaden our understandings of the subject through an exploration of the music and foods of African Caribbean peoples.
