Article published ahead of the Annual Training Conference of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), Cardiff, 23-27 August 2015. The article focuses upon the effects of austerity cuts on diversity and gender issues within the police force. The article includes two quotes from an interview with Louise Jackson, "a historian who has surveyed the history of women in British policing through the two world wars and gender equality legislation of the 1970s", in which she comments upon the current state of gender equality in British policing.
