Article in The Times, reporting on a study by Dr Claudia Pagliari and PhD student Joanna Taylor. The authors analysed the ethics guidlines available from Research Councils UK and identified important gaps in available guidance for research using data mined from social media. They also examined journal articles describing the use of social media data for health research and found a startling absence of references to ethical issues or relevant guidelines.
