PPE is proving a weak link in the government response to Covid-19.

NHS staff and care homes are complaining of both the quantity and the quality of protective kit available.

In response, groups and companies across Scotland and the UK are stepping in with their own solutions.

Among them is the Edinburgh Shield Force, a club of engineering enthusiasts, who are making 3D printed face shields for Scottish hospitals.

With thousands of masks delivered already, now the volunteers are crowdfunding to get more visors made.
