Professor Jim Crow's research project is the subject of Greek television documentary, “Hidden Landscapes of Naxos”

Press/Media: Research

Description

‘Hidden Landscapes of Naxos’, to be broadcast in Greece by ERT (the public broadcaster, equivalent of the BBC in the UK). The film will be shown on Friday 25 April 2019 at 12.30 on ERT2.

The film was directed by Vassia Chatzigiannaki (a Greek journalist and film-maker, who worked at ERT), as part of a collaboration with our own Stelios Lekakis (McCord Centre for Landscape Newcastle University).

It was facilitated and partly funded through an AHRC Cultural Value / Follow-on Fund for Impact grant for our project ‘Co-Creating Heritage’, which aims to develop practical outcomes in landscape management and public engagement from our ongoing landscape research on the island of Naxos, in the southern Aegean (the project involved Stelios, Jim Crow (Edinburgh Univ), Sam Turner (Newcastle University), and our collaborators in Greece including Dr Mina Dragouni from Monumenta, a Greek NGO concerned with landscape and heritage).
