This is a commentary about contact tracing and the use of technology to enhance its capability in the context of COVID-19. It draws upon the message from World Health Organisation (WHO) that the backbone of any country’s response must be to isolate, test and treat every suspected case AND trace every contact. This commentary concludes that contact tracing must be part of a national holistic response to this pandemic.
