Description
Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) projects are complex systems due to their multistakeholder and multisectoral nature. Therefore, We consider it crucial to propose a holistic approach to evaluate CCUS systems by using participatory processes to capture the complexity between technical, environmental and social structures interaction. We can achieve this by building cognitive maps, which represent people's knowledge and perceptions of CCUS projects. In CCUS systems, we deal with complex problems involving many parties and conditions without a unique or suitable solution for projects implementation. Albeit many components interact in the projects, we can select the most representative to represent the system. This research seeks to collect various cognitive maps from different stakeholders, which will be integrated later to analyse how physical-technical components interact with socio-political ones.
