This repository contains the code and data required to reproduce the results presented in the paper: "Efficient Lagrangian averaging with exponential filters" (2025) https://arxiv.org/abs/2406.18243 -- Abhijeet Minz, Lois E. Baker, Hossein A. Kafiabad, Jacques Vanneste code: uvr_2Dturbulence_256.mat: Initialising data for SOE_Filter.py SOE_Filter.py: Main solver for shallow water and Lagrangian mean equations (Exponential and Butterworth). SOE_Filter_main.ipynb: A Jupyter Notebook that is used to call the SOE_Filter.py--solver. SOE_Fig_i.ipynb: Notebook to create figures in paper. movie: Contains Movie1.mp4,Movie2.mp4,Movie3.mp4,Movie4.mp4, supplementary material. (SOE_BW_Fig1_Fig4.ipynb & SOE_Exp_Fig1_Fig4.ipynb) data: Contains netcdf datasets used to create figures.
