Abstract
This data was used as part of the manuscript "Combined fluorescence lifetime and surface topographical imaging of biological tissue". This work used a 126 × 192 time resolved single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array (based on the FLIMera camera) operating in time correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC) mode to calculate both the fluorescence lifetime and time of flight (ToF) on a pixel by pixel basis. This combined modality has potential biomedical applications such as surgical guidance, endoscopy, and diagnostic imaging. Tests were performed on fluorescent samples, as well as ovine and human pulmonary tissue samples. Excellent fluorescence lifetime contrast was achieved whilst also giving a measure of the distance to the sample surface.
