CSSP Brazil – Synthesising site-based observational data for model evaluation. CARDAMOM Amazon C-cycle (1x1 degree; monthly; 2001-2019)

Dataset

Abstract

The dataset contains CARDAMOM output for the calibration of a DALEC C-cycle model (ACM2: Water Cycle and Stomatal conductance) across the Amazon for a 19 year period (2001-2019) at a monthly time step and 1 x 1-degree spatial resolution. The calibration used Earth Observation derived estimates of leaf area and databased soil carbon stocks. The calibration also includes data on woody productivity and mortality (2000-2016) and a biomass map over the Amazon generated by the University of Leeds using data from RAINFOR and FlorestPlots.net. The dataset includes C-stocks, fluxes and ecosystem properties along with their associated parameteric uncertainties. The model provides a benchmark for the comparison of other independent carbon cycle models. This dataset is associated with a project on CSSP Brazil – Synthesising site-based observational data for model evaluation.
