Abstract
This is the full set of experimental data described in the paper: "Zipf's Law of Abbreviation and the Principle of Least Effort: Language users optimise a miniature lexicon for efficient communication" (2017), by Jasmeen Kanwal, Kenny Smith, Jennifer Culbertson, and Simon Kirby, published in Cognition. Data consists of .csv files containing button press information from director trials in each of 4 experimental conditions. A description of the columns in the .csv files is provided in the Readme.txt file.
