Abstract

The PhD study "we can: wellbeing, consent and agency in children's sport" explored children's wellbeing, agency and consent and parental consent in competitive sport through a rugby club case study. This dataset comprises the pseudonymised and de-identified transcripts and notes from 5 observations, 29 interviews and 6 group discussions involving children, parents and coaches at the case study club as well as transcripts and notes from pilot research. These research activities took place between October 2022 and April 2023 and explored participants' views and understandings of children's wellbeing, agency and consent and parental consent in the case study sport.

This dataset is held in the Edinburgh DataVault, directly accessible only to authorised University of Edinburgh staff.
