Abstract

Data pertaining to the publication "Limited effect of Y chromosome variation on coronary artery disease and mortality in UK Biobank". Phylogenetic analysis was performed using yhaplo v1.1.2 and 166 genotyped SNPs, which identified 89 haplogroups among 152,186 unrelated White British men from UK Biobank. A further 38 haplogroups were defined through combinations of derived groups. Haplogroups carried by fewer than 100 individuals were not tested and are not included in this dataset. The prevalence of MSY haplogroups was plotted by place of birth in successively larger census areas containing at least 100 individuals, from wards and electoral divisions, to local authorities, to regions of England and the nations of Great Britain. Geographical boundaries were retrieved from the Office for National Statistics UK 2011 Census and are available and used under the Open Government License (https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/).
