Organisation profile

The Human Dignity Foundation has made a substantial research grant and endowment to The University of Edinburgh to host a data Institute, called Childlight, that serves people working in the public and private sectors to prevent and respond to the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, online and offline. Childlight’s mission is to gather and visualise the prevalence and nature of child sexual exploitation and abuse across the world via a global index and dashboard and to create platforms that activate and make accessible that data to inform policy and drive sustainable, coordinated action to safeguard children across the world. The data institute is led by Paul Stanfield (Executive Director), Professor Deborah Fry (Director of Data and Principal Investigator) and supported by a Senior Leadership Team and Steering Board.
