The Usher Institute is a growing interdisciplinary research Institute within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, focused on delivering patient centered, data informed research to improve healthcare provision and health outcomes.  We are a key driver for collaborative and impactful research with healthcare providers and policy makers, in Scotland the UK and internationally.  The Institute hosts 78 members of academic faculty leading teams with research interests spanning clinical medicine, general practice, epidemiology, healthcare informatics, healthcare technologies, health data ethics, social science and medical humanities.  The Institute is involved in a current research funding portfolio of over £114M from a range of funders including NIHR, MRC, Wellcome, European Commission, ESRC and WHO among others.
