Accepting PhD Students
I am Lecturer in Sustainability and Urban Data Science and I have a keen interest in exploring urban dynamics through the tools of data science.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science (Geoinformatics) obtained jointly from the University of Torino (Italy) and the University of Luxemburg in 2018. Prior to joining ESALA I was Post-doctoral Research Associate (2019 - 2022) at the Geographic Data Science Lab, Department of Geography and Planning, University of Liverpool.
From 2016 to 2018 I have been part of the European Network Exploring Research into Geospatial Information Crowdsourcing software and methodologies for harnessing geographic information from the crowd ENERGIC.
My research focuses on developing new spatially informed computational methods to better understand the mutual relationship between human behaviours and their urban contexts. My work blends traditional and new forms of data to provide quantifiable evidence of urban dynamics and inform policy making. My current substantive focus concerns how we can equitably manage Net Zero transitions within cities.
