Biography

Andreas Pieris is a Reader and a member of the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science at the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Information Systems (now called Institute of Logic and Computation) of the Vienna University of Technology (2014 to 2016), and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Oxford (2011 to 2014). Andreas has published more than 80 papers, many of them in leading international conferences and journals. He has served on the PCs of numerous international conferences and workshops, including the top-tier database theory and AI conferences (PODS, ICDT, IJCAI, AAAI and KR). He has given invited talks and tutorials at international workshops and summer schools.
