Current Research Interests

Anthony's research is centred around development and application of tephrochronology and online resources.  This includes understanding human impact and interaction with the environment since Icelandic settlement 1200 years ago.  Other projects include establishing the relative sea-level history of north-west Iceland and ocean-transported pumice deposits found around the North Atlantic region.  Mexican research involves using tephra layers to provide chronological control for late Quaternary deposits.  Online activities include the development of resources for the international NABO and GHEA organisations, as well as the RSGS.
