Biography
I earned my PhD in large-scale glacier modelling from the University of Bremen's - MARUM research center. During my thesis, I contributed to the development of the calving parameterization implemented in the Open Global Glacier Model and investigated ocean-glacier interactions at a regional scale. This work involved simulating glacier ice thickness and volume for many marine-terminating glaciers in Alaska and Greenland's periphery. My dissertation is available online.
Following my PhD, I worked at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, focusing on producing large-scale datasets of marine air temperature and sea surface temperature. This research aimed to enhance global and regional climate temperature records by quantifying uncertainties in satellite and in-situ observations of meteorological variables over the ocean.
Currently, at the University of Edinburgh, I work on improving model forecasts of sea level rise from the Antarctic Ice Sheet and its peripheral glaciers, in addition to contributing to the teaching of Glaciology and numerical modelling. I am also a fellow of the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
