I did my PhD in large scale glacier modelling at the University of Bremen - MARUM. During my thesis I helped develop the calving parametrization implemented in the Open Global Glacier Model and studied ocean-glacier interactions at the regional scale, simulating glacier ice thickness and volume for most marine-terminating glaciers in the regions of Alaska and Greenland's Periphery. My dissertation is available online. Between finishing my PhD and this new position, I worked at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, working on the production of large scale data sets of marine air temperature and sea surface temperature, with the goal of improving global and regional climate temperature records, by quantifying uncertainties in satellite and in-situ observations of meteorological variables over the ocean. Now I am part of The University of Edinburgh, as PDRA in the project QUoRUM (Quantifying and Reducing Uncertainty in multi-decadal projection of Ice Sheet-Sea Level contribution). I will be working on developing fenics_ice a new ice sheet model written in Python that solves Shallow Shelf Approximation for Ice sheets using finite elements, control methods and a bayesian statistics framework.
