Research Interests

General interests: Stellar evolution, resolved stellar populations, Magellanic Clouds, Local Group galaxies, instrumentation. I'm P.I. of the VLT-FLAMES Tarantula Survey, an ESO Large Programme addressing fundamental questions relating to high-mass stars, and am part of the UK Project Office for the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT).

I supervise PhD students in collaboration with the Institute for Astronomy.
