Biography

Clara Calvert is an epidemiologist working across the University of Edinburgh and Public Health Scotland. Her research predominately focuses on using observational data to improve reproductive, maternal and child health. Within the University of Edinburgh, she works with data on maternal and child health from health and demographic surveillance sites in Eastern and Southern Africa. Within Public Health Scotland, she is  currently using routine health data to look at pregnancy and newborn screening in Scotland. She has collaborated with a number of international networks including the Analysing Longitudinal Population-based HIV/AIDS data on Africa (ALPHA) network (https://alpha.lshtm.ac.uk/) and the International Perinatal Outcomes in the Pandemic (iPOP) consortium (www.ipopstudy.com). 

Teaching

Clara currently co-leads and teaches a couse on Global Health Epidemiology for the Master in Public Health programme.
