Biography

Background

David is a quantitative research fellow at the Usher Institute and a registered nurse. He gained his PhD at the College of Social Sciences in the University of Glasgow. His thesis described the linkage and analysis of health and social care data sources in Scotland - the first such project to be completed on such a large scale. He previously held a research fellow role at Edinburgh napier University and was affiliated with the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research.

His clinical experience is in acute medicine, including critical care, and NHS24 unscheduled care/telephone triage. He was awarded an Early Career Clinical Fellowship by NHS Education for Scotland in 2012. As part of this fellowship he gained a Masters in Health Research from the University of Stirling. 

David has also had careers in HM Forces and TV & Film Drama production.

David is a memeber of the CMO/CNO Data and Analytics Steering Group for Care Homes and Social Care.
