Biography

Dr David E. Henshall is an academic clinician and Honorary Clinical Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He completed his undergraduate and foundation training in Edinburgh and is currently undertaking higher training in internal medicine in Kent, South East England. 

Clinical Expertise and Specialisation

He has broad clinical interests and has most recently worked as registrar with posts in acute medicine, cardiology, and renal & transplantation medicine. 

 

Research Interests

He is actively involved in the delivery of: 

  • clinical service evaluation and audit studies. 
  • systematic reviews. 
  • recruitment to clinical trials. 
  • coding validation studies.
  • case reports. 

He currently supports and supervises collaborative studies in the clinical neurosciences through NANSIG. 

Collaborative Activity

He has worked with many collaborative medical student/resident-led research networks including: NANSIG, INSPIRE, TRIC, NITCAR, NSAMR, STARSurg, GlobalSurg, and COVIDSurg. He has collaborated with groups in Canada (insightScope) and Brazil (AsapBio) on literature reviews.
