Dr Lacore-Martin is a Senior Lecturer in French. She is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, the Sorbonne (Maîtrise de littérature comparée), Nanterre (DEA) and Sorbonne nouvelle (Docteur ès lettres). She completed her doctoral thesis on Rabelais in 2003, at the end of a three-year ENS scholarship during which she taught at the University of Paris 3 - Sorbonne nouvelle.
Since 2015, she has been coordinating the development of the DELC e-learning project with Dr Carlos Soler Montes.
Emmanuelle Lacore-Martin's main research interests lie in French Renaissance literature, with a special interest in Rabelais and ancient Greek and Latin sources.
Her current research focuses on the links between early modern literature and medicine, with a particular interest in the impact of anatomical discoveries on the representation of the body and soul relationship in literary and philosophical texts of the period.
Other research interests include literary theory and contemporary French literature, in particular the writings of Annie Ernaux.
Dr Lacore-Martin would be very keen to supervise research students in any aspect of French Renaissance literature, but particularly on research projects looking at the intersection between literature and medicine in the early modern period.
