My research in a nutshell

My research interests are on cancer, molecular and genetic epidemiology and evidence synthesis.

Research Interests

1. One line of research of the group is to improve colorectal cancer identification from population screening and diagnostic pathways for symptomatic populations. The ultimate target is to reduce colorectal cancer death rate through improving survival outcomes and the patient journeys for those with symptoms that might indicate colorectal cancer.

2. Another active area of the group is the application of instrumental variable methods to investigate the associations between biomarkers, exposures and disease.

3. I co-lead an international consortium of applied evidence synthesis - a international network of population health researchers and information specialists (UNCOVER), which over the last four years have conducted more than 40 evidence reviews and which is committed to responding quickly to requests from policymakers for evidence reviews.
