Fernando is a Research Fellow in the Safer Communities strategic impact programme of the Scottish Centre for Adminstrative Data Research (SCADR). Having a background in Economics and International Development, he completed his PhD in 2019 at the School of Law of the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral research provided a quantitative analysis of the relationship between inequality and antisocial behaviour in schools. Fernando has worked for various organisations across the private, voluntary and public sectors in Mexico, Sweden, Iran, and New Zealand.
