Accepting PhD Students
Hugh Lamarque completed his doctorate at the London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in 2016, with funding from Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Hugh has was worked previously for the World Bank, the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform, AKE Group, the British Institute in Eastern Africa, and as visiting research fellow at Lisbon University's Institute for Social Sciences (ISCTE-IUL).
His past work concerns urban policing in borderland regions, informal cross border trading, informal petrol trading and the supply-chain analysis of low value manufactured goods in East and Central Africa. Currently he is working with the AFRIGOS European Research Council project researching the Northern Corridor that connects Mombasa with Nairobi, Kampala, Kigali and extends to towns in Eastern DRC.
