Biography

I have joined the University of Edinburgh in 2022. I hold a PhD in Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies and Theory from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. My dissertation focuses on the poetry of Ana Luísa Amaral from a queer and ecocritical perspective. I have also received a M.A. in Lusophone Studies from the University Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle and a B.A. in Portuguese and English Languages and Literatures with a specialization in teacher training from the University of Porto. Before coming to Edinburgh, I have worked at the California State University, Fresno.  

Research Interests

Ecocriticism, intertextuality, gender studies, queer theory, postcolonial studies, migration and mobility, literary theory, comparative literature, visual cultures.
