Personal profile

Biography

I am a lecturer and researcher in Digital Education, within the Centre for Research in Digital Education and the Edinburgh Futures Institute. I am Course Organiser for Learning Spaces and Digital Technologies, The Future of Learning Organisations, and Education and Digital Culture.

My main research interest concerns the relationship between learning spaces and digital technologies. This includes published work around postdigital learning spaces, how online students conceptualise the campus, the role of sound in shaping learning spaces, and mobile learning within the city.

I have also written about multimodal assessment and feedback, sonic methods in education research, and student and staff experiences around lecture capture technologies. I am a co-author of the Manifesto for Teaching Online, and I run the Elektronisches Lernen Muzik project, which explores the relationship between music and learning.
