Biography

John graduated from University College Dublin in 2006 and began his career in mixed practice. He completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at the University of Glasgow and subsequently took part in a research study at Michigan State University. John moved to Edinburgh in 2009, completing a Residency in Small Animal Surgery in 2013. He was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (CertSAS) in 2012.

He worked as a Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at University College Dublin from 2013-2016. He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (Dipl.ECVS) in 2015 and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

John returned to Edinburgh in 2016 becoming a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Orthopaedics. He is academic head of the REPAIR [Royal (Dick) Edinburgh Physiotherapy, Assessment & Intensive Rehabiliation] Centre.
