I studied Painting at Chelsea College of Art (BA) and the Royal College of Art (MA), before completing a PhD in Philosophy at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, under the supervision of Eric Alliez and Peter Osborne. Following my PhD I held teaching posts at Goldsmiths College of Art, Central Saint Martins, Kingston University and the University of Exeter. I am Honorary Fellow at the University of Exeter, and Visiting Lecture on the MRes Theory and Philosophy of Art at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design. I joined ECA in September 2016.

My research is situated at the intersections between post-Kantian continental philosophy, the visual arts (particularly of the Early Modern period) and Art History and historiography - with a focus on problems of methodology, and the theory and philosophy of Art History.

My teaching interests focus on continental philosophy of art, aesthetics, theory and historiography of art history, as well as modern and contemporary art, criticism and theory.

PhD supervision.
