Biography

Qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School in 1982. Following two years in large animal practice in Scotland, 1 year in Australia and locum work in England, started work at the R(D)SVS in 1986.

September 1988, Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

November 1995, Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

April 1997, Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia, European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia.

                          

Current Research Interests

Equine cardiology: sudden cardiac death, 4D echocardiography, mitral and aortic valve function.  General Anaesthesia: haemodynamic effects of anaesthesia in horses. Factors affecting recovery quality in horses, perioperative mortality.
