Personal profile
Biography
I have been working as a Senior Research Technician in the Genetic Core, Clinical Research Facility in Edinburgh since 2015.
I oversee the coordination of multiple projects within our Genetics lab, acting as a crucial bridge between our researchers and the operational aspects of each project. This involves closely monitoring project timelines and optimizing staff allocation to ensure efficient use of time and resources while adhering to budgetary constraints. My role encompasses not only the macro perspective of project management but also the crucial day-to-day operations of our sample processing service, ensuring its smooth and effective functioning.
Furthermore, I play a central role in driving laboratory automation initiatives, championing their implementation and leveraging the advantages they bring to our operations. By actively supporting and guiding team members in effectively utilizing automation platforms, I contribute to elevating our laboratory's productivity and accuracy while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement. Through these efforts, we aim to stay at the forefront of genetic research and deliver high-quality results that positively impact our scientific endeavors.
