Biography
Prof Kate Darling is currently an Honorary Fellow in the Edinburgh School of GeoSciences and is a member of the Oceans Research Group; she is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling.
Current Research Interests
Evolution and speciation in the open ocean. Global phylogeography of planktonic foraminifera and the implication of their cryptic diversity for palaeoenvironmental reconstruction. Molecular microbial ecology and prokaryote associations with planktonic foraminifera. Diversity and biogeography of benthic foraminifera and the implications for benthic foraminiferal taxonomy.
